In dating, I guess you can try to make sure what politics the other person is leaning on by dropping a few jokes for instance
I was once told "we'll never see each other if you're right wing". I was like "oh, I'm like this and that" (which were very much left-wing leaning) and she said "this isn't left-wing enough, no no no". Pretty sure I was trolled that day and was talking to an imbecile.

I think it's a good way to start things. There will be a quick answer as to if I'm interested or not. I'm always prepared to pay for myself if they do ask. I just know they aren't for me. I'm sure there is a lady out there who would be happy with a man who asks to split the check.
