Here’s my theory
The three founders of the Rev army represent Joy Boy:
Dragon -> will of D.
Kuma -> Bucaneer
Iva -> outcast/weirdo
All the 3 of them are tied to concept of freedom
Joy Boy was probably a Bucaneer with a D. in his name (he has a giant Strawhat) and a weirdo/outcast
He believed in Nika or created the concept of Nika
This is the crime of the Bucaneer's

They also have a special ability which is not explainable through science​

Personally I feel like it’ll relate to the countries that believe in the “Sun God” and that all those countries were once one island but when Joyboy lost the final war, he had one of the inhabitants, Oars, to separate the island into four.

The ancient Kingdom, Jaya, Elbaf, and a fourth where all the kingdoms took a name of one of the gods.

God of Sun Nika - Ancient Kingdom
God of Forests Elbaf
God of Earth Jaya
God of Rain - Fourth Kingdom

The reason I think this is possible is because Oars name can be translated to Oz and we’ve yet to see the “Emerald City” so it wouldn’t shock me if the Emerald City is on Raftel which in wizard of oz was a place of the future.

The only possibility of Joyboy being a buccaneer is if there is a buccaneer family with the name D
But I dont believe, and that strawhat is giant enough even for Kuma. That strawhat is for someone like Dorry and Brogy
