Could be different if Zoro trolls Lucci in their dialogue this chapter though.

2. Why does that not make sense to you, hm? The BB pirates were there before Saturn showed up. All they needed to do when Saturn showed up was call the BB.

What you don’t understand is that, since they had no idea Saturn would show up a day later that means they originally had something else planned on egghead. Seems like Saturn is more of a bonus for them at this point. No need to complicate things for yourself.
