Yeah lmao I get it, Im not a fan of it either but its the way the story is now, its the mega Luffy show post TS and now the Nika show too. I prefer it when it was just Joyboy only and not the Nika retcon/twist too. It felt a lot humbler and more inspiring, more reserved and epicly teased and built up.
I was more excited about Zuensha saying Joyboy was here before he dipped for no reason at all then Luffy being Nika and a literal God.
I know this is a huge ass rant, but i am so tired of people slandering Kidd, saying hes dead, wishing he was dead, that it would be better if he died instead of becoming a cheerleader etc. Ive never had to defend a character THIS MUCH before,and Ive been a Sanji stan for 20 years now!
I can understand the sentiment but it just aggravates me too personally too.
I was more excited about Zuensha saying Joyboy was here before he dipped for no reason at all then Luffy being Nika and a literal God.
I think Kidd could get a new dream too, he could be like Moria and Crocodile for example, although idk if Croc wants to be pirate king or not, has he said that? Crocodile wants to build that miltiary utopia or something right? A paradise where he cant be threatened and stopped, that is impenetrable, indestructible effectively and thus completely safe? I wonder if that is a symptom of his PTSD from what Whitebeard did to him and whatever happened in his past too to make him so cynical and untrusting now too? I cant wait to see what the deal is with him and Mihawk in time. Especially as Croc noted they're not so different and both are with Buggy now of all people too.
There was this theory for Kidd that I love, he will become the new Whitebeard, people saw Law is the Whitebeard and I can kinda see that somehow but the theory goes, we had people like Kuma and Moria who "failed in life" or were far too "unlucky" and they've become amazing, adoptive fathers, hell even Kaido became an adoptive father and saved Page One and Ultis lives supposedly from the sounds of it and the theorist claims Kidd will have a similar role in future.
Kidd has a crew of over 30 people, one of them might be a kid herself literally too. I hope not given what Shanks and the giants just did to Kidd ship and crew though lol. That would make Shanks a hell of a hypocrite too. Kidd is clearly liked enough to have a massive crew like that and who else had such a massive crew? Whitebeard. Also technically Big Mom but for VERY different reasons ofc lmao.
I love the idea of Kidd becoming the ultimate blacksmith in the series, we've yet to see someone like that and I hoped Wano would go into that in detail, but we only got a touch of it with Sukiyaki briefly lol AFAIR. Ive always imagined Elbaf is the home of the best blacksmiths with how much of blacksmithing fits into Norse/Viking/Scandivanian etc culture/mythology and whatever. Especially with their Gods and such too, similarly to Greek ones too or maybe Roman as well.
Kidd could become the ultimate weapons dealer/merchant or w/e in the series potentially too or even use his abilities to help disarms extremely dangerous armies/massive bandit gangs (like how he took on every single bandit gang in his homeland and took them down and unified them by himself, all to avenge his dead childhood crush and friend) and he would be a perfect Revolutionary for that reason too funnily enough, he fits that whole punk/anarchist ideals and motivations of Revolutionaries, the rebel without a cause but they do have a cause ofc and so does he.
Kidd hates the Celestial dragons and WG too and the Revs would be a great alternative route for him in the story. It would be a great buff for the Revs to gain him as an ally especially if they get Killer too naturally and all his crew even.
Oda wants Kidd to be the new Moriah, its blatantly obvious BUT Oda has also made Moriah look even more tragic and respectful than he already has before, another character who is largely misunderstood and overly hated. Moriah is very tragic and perfect foreshadowing and symbolism of how fucked up, brutal and dark the new world is, how unforgiving and indiscriminate. Kidd is the new gen version of that.
If Moriah can care so much about others to the point of adopting Perona and raising her and she being extremely fond of him like a father and risking her own life to find him in a Yonkos territory and ex HQ of the Rocks Pirates by herself, deep in the New World and also putting herself in the hunting sights of someone who loves to HUNT AND KILL beautiful women too, than Moriah really cant be all that bad either and also on top of that, Moriah went there in the first place also BY HIMSELF to find his missing crewmate and Moriah risked his own life like Perona is doing, to find his beloved, missing (but ironically extremely scummy and not really redeemable) crewmate. In fact Absalom is like Moriahs Vasco Shot to think of it ironically....FUCK! Lmao.
But yeah, I agree I hate the idea of Kidd becoming a cheerleader for Luffy but I think he said Luffy will be the pirate king already when he was fighting Big Mom, I cant remember now and Oda has been hinting for a LONG time now and very overtly through Wano that Kidd will become an ally regardless.
Oda was never gonna let Kidd become the Pirate King, not in a million years or even lifetimes or alternative timelines or dimensions or w/e.
I love Kidds character too much to want him dead for such petty reasons, no true fan of him would want him dead, its extremely foolish pride to want him dead than rather letting him become a "cheerleader", they say pride comes before a fall after all. Its too much of that romanticsed samurai/kamikaze attitude of Japan where "DEATH BEFORE DISHONOUR MY BROTHERS", fuck that nonsense.
Ive seen a lot of death in my time including death of someone extremely close and important to me lately and thus for me, its just far too personal, insulting and upsetting to see others wishing one of my most favourite characters of all time should die just because they dont want to see him become an ass kisser.
Kidds entire character would never be ruined if that happened, it just means he would be humbled and more mature, that he realised hes not the main character and that no matter how hard he tries, he'll never get to be that top dog, never get to be a literal God because he was never born to be one, he was not destined to be one. Hes not the son of the biggest hero of the Marines nor the lead of the revolutionary arm and the most wanted man in the world and god knows what else at this point either. Hes just an ordinary guy with some of the worst luck in history, doing the best he can.
Humility is such a wonderful thing and it breeds a lot of respect when its handled right, both by the one exhibiting it and the ones witnessing and reacting to it.
I am dreading the day the Shanks vs Kidd episode comes out too , especially with Eric being part of Toei now to really rub in the Shanks wank/bias too lmfao. Im gonna have to join a very remote monastery or go deep into some mountains or jungle or caves or something and disappear for a long time when that shit goes down lmfao. All the Kidd slander, hate, ignorance, toxicity is gonna expotentially amplify to the most brutal extremes by that point, like nuclear levels never seen before and I am terrified of it, dreading it immensely lol.
At this point, id probably give up my soul (but not really ofc lmao) if it meant people would shut up about slandering and complaining about Kidd, its exhausting as fuck lmao. Its so hard to not get agitated over this shit, thats why I keep trying to make jokes about it and such, I dont have the same thick skin and composed nature that nearly all the other Kidd fans somehow have, they got some amazing haki going on unlike Kidd himself ironically, unlike me who is more like Kidd anyway, the hot-headed, impulsive, edgy, emotional side of him anyway lmao.
