Which is a fascinating thought because if One Piece is needed to topple the govt to achieve said goal, then it would imply that Blackbeard (in this case, hes not the protagonist) "would" have to lose prior by that logic.

IMO, Rafter has some "trial" system to prevent the wrong people from getting the OP, even when it is "time to claim it." I can see the SHs being exhausted by the "trial" and the immense lore dump one such island would require, which is where the BBPs swoop in, steal the OP, and trap the SHs on Rafter. By the time the SHs make it out, the world has already been turned upside down, with PK BB in possession of both OP and at least one ancient weapon.

I think IMU will be dealt with before sailing for Rafter, and that Shanks will guide the SHs there after a pre-"trial" held by the RHPs to test the SHs. To forshadow BB's switcheroo, while we get the SHs finally reaching the OP and learning what it is, we might get a little cliffhanger of the BBPs also reaching Rafter and fronting on the RHPs, with one of Shanks' iconic "You won't stop the future blah blah". Right before BB steals the OP, we cut back and see a bloodied Shanks dying on Rafter's shores.

That might be the case, if it wasn't for one small detail. They are Pirates who have honor and fight for their dreams. Do you think if it came down to a battle to become the next Pirate King, that Luffy and Shanks would settle it with a footrace? Whoever reaches the One Piece first. gets to keep it? That is not how that would go down. They know the weight of what it means to achieve the Pirate King title, and they wouldn't sully it like that.

That depends entirely on Shanks’ motives and goals, which we do not know yet. He’s aware of the Nika awakening relevance, so it’s not ruled out yet that he fully wants Luffy to be The One. In fact Shanks himself told Buggy that he didn’t want to go for the One Piece, and he didn’t until now. So assuming that he wants to be in some death battle with Luffy is a stretch.

Oda wouldn't have bothered to make Imu if BB was the final villain. Would have left it at gorosei being the top.

And depending on Saturn's performance, the godknights rather than the gorosei may be the strongest force under the WG.

The WG, and so Imu is also the cause of everything happening over the past 800 years + the void century. BB is just the final "pirate antagonist".

I could see it being a Davy Back fight.

A fight between the Straw Hats and Red Haired pirates is truly the only explanation as to what I can think of as to why Oda introduced such a concept out of the blue, which so far has had no bearing whatsoever on the story.

The concept of the Davy Back fight feels tailor made for The Straw Hats and Red Haired pirates.

Winner keeps the Straw Hat? It's perfect.

If anything this confirms his NOT the final villain because Imu and the other Gorosei were still kept as silhouettes whilst everything about BB is being revealed, we now got the secret to why he can eat multiple fruits even.

So he’s currently in the race for the One Piece though.

That’s his immediate concern given his two recent acquisitions.

Which means he’s going to fight Luffy (the only person as equipped as Teach in said race) for the One Piece.

There’s no coherent argument that Oda had Teach steal the rubbings, get someone who can read them, name drop the burned scar man & the final poneglyph in a Blackbeard flashback just for Teach to not factor into a Laughtale, Lodestar etc arc.

He’s wasted ink setting that up, which more or less locks Teach in as being defeated before Luffy becomes the pirate king

Yeah, I don't really think the sequence will be as easy to predict. The only thing which is for sure is the tie between One Piece, Void Century info and the government.

No, as I said in an identical thread, Blackbeard has absolutely zero connection to Joy Boy, the Void Century or oppressing the world, which are all EOS themes that have been set up, we're literally told that Luffy's dream is something more than being PK, and being PK is pretty much where Blackbeard ends.

How do you know this? Teach being a D. and having special lineage implies there is some connection to the Void Centrury.

Which makes no sense because Luffy has no reason to fight Imu and wouldn't even know about Imu, unless he gets to learn the true history of the world, which can only happen after he claims the One Piece on Laugh Tale. There is also no reason for Imu to show up on Laugh Tale. When he could just nuke it/send some more Gorosei/Marines etc etc.
