Saying infinite chances? Your looking at the Kaido fight which was Luffy's to begin with. Zoro has rarely lost fights so you can't even say that about him. Also I know you may not know this but Zoro is considered one of the main cast. He may not have Luffy's importance in the story but he is guaranteed to succeed regardless.

Zoro is always made to look cool and to never lose a fight. Luffy W/L ratio is worse than Zoro's.
As a matter of fact it wasn't until this very arc where Luffy has actually dominated. He's had his ass kicked left and right since before the Timeskip. Even when he wins it's always a struggle.

That's right Zoro is designed to be great, that's why Zoro can't be compared to anyone.
