Telling Sanji to not interfere in an attack is not the same as Sanji literally being named the captain.

Just about every member of the straw hat has done this to Luffy but none of them are above Luffy. However when Oda writes the leaders of the straw hats, he’ll always showcase it as Luffy then his wings.

It is because of most the time Nami disobey Sanji's instructions but Sanji was following Nami's order.

Agreed although her backstory in the manga was really fucked up. I stopped hating her and felt sorry for her after I found out.

Her powers were pretty cool.but my god his writing for her was not "great" and the anime made her worse.

But Kubo does do a lot of awesome female characters too indeed.
