Because Pica was running away with his devil fruit hax and made Zoro huff and puff, just like Kizaru vs. Luffy. Kizaru was running around trying to kill VP and ignore Luffy, just like Pica. Both were running around with devil fruits, and both Luffy and Zoro were following their opponents.

It ended exactly like Pica, but in a non-perma way.
