Well, TAC said this was the best section to post this, so....I did. I want to make a group project of making a bigger and better Pirate Warriors then what 4 was. Discussing characters, stages and game mechanics, mostly. Anyone is free to suggest anything, so let's get started.

First up is the characters. Here is a total list of all the characters who have been in all four games, both playable and NPC. The ones like Luffy/Kaido (Onigashima Battle) or Shanks (Film: Red) aren't listed, as I want to go more into alternate forms of characters later. And without further ado...

#4 was my first and only Pirate Warriors but after a childhood of playing Dynasty Warriors, I was a little upset about certain mechanics in the game. Would love to see these addressed in a future game.

1. Lack of maps.

There’s a real lack of maps in PW4 and that’s just baffling considering how varied and visually exciting most of One Piece is. With the progressions in the manga & stuff they left out, I’d include the following maps.
  • Impel Down
  • Amazon Lily
  • Skypeia
  • Flower Capital (Wano)
  • Onigashima (Wano)
  • Onigashima Roof Top (Wano)
  • Hachinosu Island
  • Mary Geose
  • Egghead

2. Custom Character/Campaign

Might be a little out there but a Warriors game is perfect for character customization, especially one that’s broken down into easily understandable types (air, power, speed, special). And like Dynasty Warriors Empires, a mode where you can recruit your own crew and follow a loose, non-canonical story would be great for replayability and keeping the game fresh. There’s only so many times you can run through the series’ canon structure before getting bored.

One thing I liked was the size perspective of people you can be
Being zoro and fighting loads of enemies your size ot being kaido or meme and being essentially godzilla.

55 characters would be ideal. All pirates warriors 4 original characters minus vinsmokes, carrot, bartolomeo and tashigi. And they should add drake, killer, oden, garp, greenbull, saturn, who s who, sasaki, queen, king, magellan, enel, gastino, kuma, yamato, kaku, monet and bellamy. All with fully updated moveset. All zoans with both their hybrid and beast form, no dlc trash, no movie no canon characters, no characters with incomplete moveset like roger, rayleigh etc.. Thats all i ask.

I was pretty disappointed in PW4 after 3 and 2.

Here’s what I’d do
-get rid of Sky types or rework it, because it was awful to control for lots of them
-go Original story like PW2. I know the OP story like the back of my hand, I don’t need to play through it again.
-bring back cut characters and maps because it’s bizarre to remove them.
-bring back individual character maps that PW3 had that was like jumping from islands, because it was boring af picking the same maps from a list

There have been characters since 1 that have nearly full fledged movesets and models, make them playable, it’s mostly the early villains. It’s a no-brainer because they also have more moves to use because the old fights showed more.

And I don’t think we need to throw in characters who’s movesets we barely know, tbh. Would rather King with an established moveset than Nasujuro with one basic move.
