- the "future of the Navy".
- he has literally the same nickname as Garp, "Hero". How Oda could be more transparent?
- he was already very proficient with CoO, and now even unlocked a new haki and used the same move as Garp;
- dreams to be an Admiral.

On the other hand:

- Smoker became VA in the TS;
- lost bad against Law;
- passed all DR in bed;
- admitted that even if he was Admiral, he couldn't have done what Fuji did;
- vanished after DR.

And I am even letting go the sword thing, because Koby Is willing to fight Emperors while Smoker isn't.

So, I applaude your hope, but your reasoning could have been valid 400 chapters ago, even if one could already guess what It would have been since Koby was Garp's apprentice (mirroring Luffy being Ray's and Zoro Mihawk's), but alas.

And I wanted to see Smoker at high levels. Even Golden era Marine has two leading figures, Garp and Sengoku, but still. Probably Sengoku of this era Is Fuji.

Y’all must not have read the same Punk Hazard arc. Most of the arc was about Smoker talking about how horrible it is for marines and pirates to work together and how his justice would never let him be indebted to a pirate.

Kuzans the exact opposite he believes that justice lies in joining pirates and even calls himself a hero of justice while waiving Blackbeards flag.

That’s an actual theme for a fight Oda would write, whos justice is correct seeing how that was literally the theme of Marineford.

Coby doesn’t fit here cause he doesn’t care about justice. He just wants to help people. That’s why he clashed with and will fight the one who keeps slave camps. The corrupt king vs the hero is one of literatures oldest themes for a reason

I dont have high expectations regarding his powerlevel tbh. Minimum YC1 up to whatever Oda thinks, but i dont think he will place him among the real top tiers.

Long time ago we could say the same about Lucci & Kaku but Oda created CP0 to bring them back.

Thats the thing we just speculate here but i cant see Oda forgetting about Smoker and make appear as a cameo character. He's definitely gonna have a role but we cant see whats his role gonna be.
