Remember Shanks showed up at Marineford right after that with no evidence he or his crew were damaged at all from a fight. Kaido and his crew didn't show any evidence of fighting Shanks, either.

Kaido putting shanks along with Roger, Rocks, WB and lolden is pretty huge proof that they fought. Maybe not at that exact time. But they did fight.

The other 4 on kaidos list all have fought and probably beaten kaido. lolden literally had kaido dead to rights.

So kaido putting shanks there is a huge acknowledgement. Something which can't be done after a simple clash.

The difference is Kaido was hitting him, whereas Luffy just got hit by an air wave from Warcury's roar thus the gag effect of having his body parts blown off, even his scar lmao.

oh yeah, not at that time. im sure they did fight in the past at some point. i believe shanks is the "god" of the underworld in one piece and everyone who ends up working in the underworld is technically under him. all of those guys who attended big mom's party like drug peclo, du feld, deep sea current umit and big news morgans are shanks' actual fleet, not the fodder fleet
