It’s amazing how severe y’all’s hate boner is for Akainu. I think he is probably the most irrationally hated manga character of all time lmfao.

Like y'all literally hate Akainu more than you hate the Celestial Dragons lol. Ask yourselves why that is.
I think the reason lies in Akainu being the flashback villain in the OP best arc to date (Water7/Enies Lobby) as well as the villain in the second-best OP arc (Marineford). Akainu has such a good bad boy streak, most fans don't want him redeemed in any way, just for him to remain bad and receive a good beating for it.

If you really think about it VP is kinda in the wrong here at least if you look at it from a certain POV

Yes it's good he revealed the truth but he revealed the truth with no solution he's only gonna cause panic and confusion

Imagine you're just Watching YouTube then Bill Nye pops up and says oh BTW a meteor will hit the earth in one month Good Luck!

Then just dies

But no one can prepare for a meteor; however, a flood you can learn to sail, build ships, start moving to higher ground, etc. to prepare.

Hes the furthest character I expect to be conflicted about anything given how extreme he is, I mean he literally murdered innocent children for his justice back in Ohara for example.
I'm sure some civilians in Cacao island died because Kuzan froze them but that wasn't to showcase him as evil I'd argue. If anything Akainu’s ideology will be exposed as wrong. As @Lee Ba Shou said. Akainu thinks of himself as righteous, he's not evil and he doesn't want to be a villain either. The Gorosei on the other hand....

Akainu kills pirates (primarily) and those who might oppose the Order and help pirates (secondarily) because of a Traumatic Event in his youth.
If that Traumatic Event is later revealed to not have been caused by pirates (like Akainu has believed his entire life), but, instead, by Imu or the shadow forces of the WG, Akainu might become a little more than just conflicted.

Just chilling

Plenty of villains think of themselves as the heroes, thats what makes them compelling and good villains as opposed to mustache twirling villains.

Now this would be cool if it happened.

He supplied the WG with everything they need to cause dozens of more Ohara/Lulusia Incidents, pretends that the morals are complicated, and only warns people of the things he's learned after he's already dead. He's really kind of a piece of shit :suresure:

Its good news for me, I was against an Akainu redemption story where he would fight against the WG like @Lee Ba Shou wanted. Akainu is irredeemably evil and should stay that way.
This chapter is actually terrible for Admiral fans.

It basically confirms that Akainu will remain a WG dog (and probably fight Luffy soon).

Oda also went with the boring and predictable direction of the Ancient Robot hiding the snail, rather than Kizaru like I theorized. So Lizaru’s character arc is basically ruined

“Sir I have a family”
“Then go die an honorable death.”

I see no conflict possible with this type of character.

Joyboy wanted the new generation to play with ancient weapons? Like its suppose to be a nuclear gift??

"Here you go new gens, ancient weapons to start wars and sink your planet" :pepego:

and what does "passing down" even mean? they were all buried/hidden.

Did he not think Imu, or other evil people might take control of them :yurazclear:
