I don’t get why people think admirals are going to betray the WG now; Punk basically said a pirate could’ve done it then named a group of pirates who knew about these ancient weapons but did nothing.

The only question is who the WG is going to put the blame on.
Blackbeard - The man who’s been making moves for two years
Luffy - The man who has the demon of ohara on his crew so can read the poneglyphs
Buggy - The ex Roger pirate the marines now think knows the true history

Id put shanks, but they’d never blame their snitch.
Well. We know what the Gorosei think of the Navy. They're just the fact of the WG to the public but they do not belong to the core nor do they live at the top of the red line, so when Imu sinks the entire world naturally the Marines won't just accept it because they die to.

That's what it boils down too. For the WG the Navy are just pawns, their individual will and sense of justice are trivial matters but for Akainu the Navy is everything and his sense of justice will make him even clash with the Gorosei.

Although Vegapunk hasn't confirmed this, I just realized that what's probably pissing Akainu at the moment besides the WG having kept him in the dark all this time is the fact that he's expecting Vegapunk to reveal that the govt. were the perpetrators behind the destruction of Lulusia.

He's the type who would be fine with genocide as long as there's an "evil" tag plastered with it, but there really was no reason for Lulusia's destruction besides it simply being Imu's wish to test the weapon.
Fingers crossed he decides to reject the WG after this and Kizaru's fate and goes after the Ancient Weapons/One Piece too. I feel like this IS the moment for the Marines to change the status quo and also fight for this.

Better news is this would keep Fuji on the "antagonist" side of things because it would be something he and Akainu actually agree on.

In trying to keep his report as objective as possible, Vegapunk has phrased this in a way that could pretty easily be twisted by the WG to paint Joyboy as the obvious bad guy. What the world can gather from this so far is that Joyboy explicitely wanted the ancient weapons to persist into modern times and that those same weapons are now threatning to sink what remains of the world.

People around the world are listening to a recording that Vegapunk stated would only begin after his death and, as far as they know, Luffy and the SHs were holding him hostage minutes before this death. The WG pretty much have it all set up to simply reveal that Luffy is indeed Joyboy and continue on with the narrative that he assaulted Egghead to claim the Mother Flame and power his world ending weapons.

Thought this entire thing was leading up to the moment the WG gets exposed to the world but it might actually be the point at which Luffy gets branded as the number one threat to human civilization.

Damn that’s a good point, thought the speech Vegapunk never blamed the WG for what happened in Lulusia and due to Joyboy’s wish to pass on the ancient weapons he doesn’t know which side is good or bad. The WG can easily spin the disappearance of lulusia on a pirate

Yes; however, that’s never been an issue. The WG doesn’t get in the Navy’s way of enacting their justice they give them funding and weapons and in exchange they act as the World Governments police force.

This really doesn’t change anything. Sakazuki has shown no need to fight the WG and now that punk just said pirates may or may not have a weapon of mass destruction, he has bigger things on his mind I’m sure.

Cover Page:
-We see more of Tsuru's burn mark, it does look fairly severe. Hopefully it can be healed over time.
-Urashima, the Sumo wrestler Luffy beat to save Kiku, is seen near who may be Kiku. Urashima still being smitten with Kiku, even though she has... a blade, rather than a scabbard, would actually be kind of cute.

Page 1:
-It's important to note how hidden the knowledge of the Ancient Machines is to the world. Knowing Ancient Machines that can destroy the entire world exist would throw the world into conflict; look at the Cold War after the nukes were dropped in Japan
-Imu's been gooning for like 800 years, my word
-Alubarna was built 4000 years ago, so, Lili wouldn't have been responsible for its construction, since Lili was from the Void Century timeline. Alubarna being designed to combat flooding (look at its architecture) suggests that global flooding has been a problem for a while, rather than just a recent issue

Page 2:
-After over a year of personal panic, we finally get Karoo/Carue on panel... Vivi's duck IS SAFE. And worried.
-So, Alabasta did rebuild the Royal Mausoleum (makes sense, it's been two years). Cobra's burial is taking place in the same chamber Croc and Luffy fought in.
-If you look at the top Hieroglyphs near Cobra's painting, we see Pell and Chaka sitting under Hieroglyphs of a Falcon and Jackal, the guardian deities of Alabasta. This clearly references Horus and Anubis from Egyptian Mythology, and makes me think these two will have Mythical Zoan Awakenings in the future to protect Alabasta
-Cobra rocked, great dad/king

Page 3/4:
-So, yeah, the Mother Flame represents Nuclear energy. Very useful, but very dangerous.
-The Cipher Pol agents needing rescue is interesting. Seraphim are probably fine, considering their strength
-Edison can't create more clouds... this could lead to Punk Records collapsing in future chapters
-Edison is foreshadowing V. Nusjuro going to the Labophase, looks like

Page 5:
-Stussy and Edison are real ones.
-I think Kaku will go after Lucci to help him... Kaku knows how dangerous Zoro is, after all.

Page 6:
-The Marine shown is Vice Admiral Comil, who appeared in Ace's Cover Series. Comil runs the Marine Base G2, which used to have bitter coffee. Ace delivered milk from Moda, the Lulusia girl, to her parents, who work as cooks at G2. Comil allowed Ace to escape after Ace helped out the base. Since Sabo saved Moda, who saved Ace, this is a nice connection. Vice Admiral Comil is shown as a kind hearted man who cares deeply about his subordinates, so, I expect him to be furious over Lulusia's destruction.
-Elizabello is shown, I wouldn't be surprised if this is enough for him to secede from the World Government

Page 7:
-Vegapunk was clearly unaware of York's betrayal while recording this message. He knew someone stole the Mother Flame, but not who.
-Lol at Kinemon "Momonosuke-sama, you can't speak about the Pluton in front of O-Tama-chan!
-Croc is in black background... is Croc on his way to Egghead??!?!?!!?!?

Page 8:
-Shirahoshi was meant to be passed on to future generations? No one tell Vander Decken
-Sengoku is choking on rice crackers in fear, Whitebeard was right; war is coming, a war that can sink the world. The Marines have been fools, trying to avoid the inevitable, and now it's blowing up in their damn arrogant faces.
-Vegapunk talking about those who know the true history, then cutting to Marineford, says a lot.

Page 9:
-Damn, Akainu really was in on it. Sad to see. Dude loves terrorism as long as it's legally sanctioned, I guess.
-The hunt for Crocus... has begun
-We see Brook's old music buddies who kidnapped him from the Satanists amongst the Long Arm people

Page 10:
-So, Stella realized someone stole the Mother Flame. Since Stella didn't tell the Gorosei about it himself, he clearly wasn't supposed to be making the Mother Flame. Once Stella found out, he knew a Satellite, the only people who knew about the Mother Flame, had sold him out. York didn't realize the Mother Flame would be used for an Ancient Machine, she just knew the World Government wanted free energy. York DIDN'T KNOW about Lulusia's destruction. Too lazy.
-The Stella found out Lulusia had been destroyed, but, could not confirm which Satellite had betrayed him, only that it wasn't Shaka and Pythagoras (this is why they appear in the broadcast, but not the other Satellites). The Labophase death game was actually a trap the Stella set up, to figure out which Satellite had betrayed him and stolen the Mother Flame.
-The Stella set things up so he would be killed and the broadcast would be revealed.
-Ju Peter is IMO sucking up the CP agents so he can spit them out where there isn't fire. Think of Wapol saving Vivi from Mary Geoise by carrying her in his big, beautiful mouth

Page 11:
-York's wrong, Kizaru has the snail. Once Vegapunk realized what was happening, he called Kizaru, and told him everything. Kizaru has been a double agent this entire time, and is waiting until the broadcast ends to get back into the fight, since he's the one with the snail.
-The Iron Giant is giant bait, IMO

Page 12:
-IMO, the Roger Pirates realized they were too early, and have been trying to set up the next generation. That's why they spread out all over the world.
-The Crocus gag of him staring at them probably was Crocus actually judging the Straw Hats lol

Good chapter, hope Oda gets some rest.

When I speak of rebellion I'm not saying Akainu directly fights the WG himself but that he may ignore orders and follow his own plans to enforce his own justice.

If Akainu takes the Navy post Egghead and comes crashing down on Luffy because he's the reincarnation of the first pirate, leaving the WG defenseless in the process that counts as betrayal too.

Croc was shown next to Momo talking about Pluton; Oda hasn’t ended that plotline
:pepecroc:

The Roger pirates know about the void century, the world government called buggy a Roger pirate when they gave him his current bounty
:pepebuggy:

Buggy may not know a damn thing, but the world thinks he does. The Marines Vs Cross Guild thickens
