Man, is so strange seeing all these comments about Akainu oppossing to the WG, people here and on Reddit are loving this idea, and don't get me wrong, Akainu having more personality is good. But idk, I'm on the minority here hoping for a Luffy vs Akainu. And yeah, I know G5 vs Kizaru wasn't as exciting as I expected but man, an arc focusing on Akainu as a main villain would be cool ngl.

But I guess Luffy has others opponents for the remaining arcs (Elbaf villain, BB, The man with the burn scar, Imu).

What made me love Akainu and Kizaru back in Pre-TS was that they didn't care. If now they care Oda will nerf these guys (Look at Fujitora and Kizaru).

In the coup-d'etat theories, Akainu does not side with the pirates against the WG; he takes his half of the Marines in a divorce from SWORD, and goes apeshit against WG and pirates alike.

It'd be:

1. Imu's WG;
2. Buggy's CG (cheap WG imitation);
3. Akainu's "evil"-ish Marines;
4. SWORD/Fuji-Smoker-Coby's good Marines;
5. Revos + fighting civilians;
6. Luffy's good pirates (Fleet & other allies included);
7. BB's crooked pirates.

The Akainu vs Luffy fight is only glossed over by Sabo and Dragon supporters.

Akainu and the whole Marines will secede from the WG after the recent revelations and shit.


But his ultimate goal wont change.

It is to eliminate all the pirate scum from the earth.


After the Marines leave WG, he will no longer have to sit at a desk and waste good cigars.

he has not shown any explicit emotion for getting to know the information or against it....
