Underwhelming: X Drake dude did absolutely nothing significant or helpful and is a team hopping bastard

Underwhelming, : Zunesha dude came all the way there was like " hey momo we opening the country yet" and then dipped when Momo said no

Overwhelming: Kaido we all know the efforts it took to take him down dude was a tank

Overwhelming: Luffy like always his tenacity and ability to bounce back and adapt is second to non most people would quit after they got knocked out the first time, not luffy tho dude got killed and still was ready to scrap the true definition of " I ain't hear no bell"

L Drake. Bro had hype coming in, then Oda exposed him as the weakest tobi roppo who’s only role all arc was getting bullied
All scabbards except the sulongs for how Oda hyped these dudes, they were pathetic…

Overwhelming:
Kaidos strength was legit. Bro left big mom in the dust despite them standing both on the standing of yonko.

Overwhelming: Queen, as in everything I'd heard about him before the fact was all powerscaling stuff that rather downplayed how entertaining he was as an antagonist (though this is helped significantly by his dub voice which obviously isn't in the manga)
Underwhelming: Hawkins. He had all the makings for a highly compelling bad guy to deal with what with his no-nonsense attitude being on par with Lucci's and him being able to see the future with some degree of accuracy, and then he gets hit with some of the biggest PIS of all time and (probably) dies far past the point of anyone caring.

True I really had high expectations for X-Drake. Yea the scabbards were underwhelming overall BUT i do consider the 4 Scabbards who used the "Oden Nitoryu" vs Kaido still above all Tobbi Roppos in terms of strength

Which character fell below my expectations and which character exceeded my expectations, that is the point of the thread, correct?

I expected nothing good from Perospero and expected him to get whacked by Carrot to avenge Pedro in typical shonen fashion. The fact Carrot got cobbled instead was genuinely hilarious to me.

Kaido I expected to be a glorious blood knight. He was instead a whiny git that screamed in agony whenever he so much as got a paper cut. Bloke screamed blue bloody murder every time somebody sliced him. Whitebeard lost portions of his body without complaint, Doffy got his internal organs shredded with only a grunt of acknowledgement. Kaido wailed from a smeggin Raizo scroll.

Also, Kanjuro and forgettable CP0 Agent getting named character kills while Kaido didn't is laughable so yes, I found Kaido incredibly underwhelming in terms of physical presence and character. He was by far the greatest disappointment in Wano.

Overwhelming : Guernica : the man exceeded expectations by a good margin

Kaido is a difficult case : character wise he wasn’t totally bad but wasn’t great either : hilarious flashback, lack of explanation of many things about him (alcohol, depression, suicide tendencies, why he was unable to die « magically » (all executions failing weirdly) etc etc)

But he wasn’t totally bad either : insane strength, nice design, great move set, and continuous threat all along the arc. Little depth added when Luffy and Oden died and he didn’t win cleanly.

Underwhelming : 99% of the Wano cast. Fuck that arc

I initially thought this thread is about characterization.

Underwhelming - Big mom as yonko. She was way to underwhelming in terms of offence and gets clowned way to often.

L drake by far the most underwhelming character in wano. Man gets clowned everytime lol.

Queen also was underwhelming for me. I expected him to have a plague mode against sanji but he only used lasers which don't hit anyone and vet level germa techs.

Jack , WW are other underwhelming ones.

Overwhelming - Kaido was a monster. Simply refused to go till the end and showed monster like endurance, speed , FS haki and AP with island level attack at the end.

Zoro and law comes next and then King and Yamato.
