Because slice of life & drama + all MCs being girls while all that todays average anime enjoyer wants is battle shonen or isekai action.

The Duke of Death and his Maid is legit one of the best romcoms made. Extremely satisfied and happy with the ending and just honestly grateful that this was a complete adaption and not abandoned after one season.
To anyone who has not seen it please give it a chance, the 3D animation is nice and it does grow on you.
