I think Oda would give us some insight into Kizaru’s perspective if he was gonna betray. Without the bread crumbs, it’ll be random and out of left field.

last we saw Kizaru, he was 100% okay with killing Vega, a 12 year old girl and Kuma. It’d be cheap if he heel turned like that

Him closing his eyes when shooting laser at Bonney and Kuma is a crumb.

Him saying over and over again how he doesn't want to hurt his friends is too.

Him literally having a mental breakdown and laying down and covering his eyes when he's physically 100% fine is a pretty huge one I'd say.

Anything more and it'd be like oda screaming at our faces that KIZARU IS GONNA BETRAY.

Good reveals are set up subtly in the background.

The combined attack sounds cool. Smart for Luffy to stop needlessly attacking, and just focus on relocating Mars so the crew can get further along with departing. Also serves as good hype for Mars since we have Luffy, Sanji, Franky and Bonney all combining their efforts to send him away. Nice to see Sanji contribute again against the Gorosei before the crew departs, even if it was a team effort.

The broadcast coming back is kinda an underwhelding development considering Vegapunk isn't adding a whole lot that we don't know at this point. Hopefully we get something good before it's all gone, otherwise might as well have let the Gorosei retain a W in cutting the transmission short. I get the Ancient Robot needs to perform, but why not just have him do better the first time as opposed to getting sent into the sea? Just comes off as extending things unnecessarily without it being very satisfying, and by that I mean the choice to have the Robot get thrashed just to come back soon after.

Luffy vs Ju Peter lets the latter get a shot to show off more. Last time they faced was Ju Peter swallowing Luffy and the giants stepping in, so it sounds like it could be a cool clash. Luffy will probably just follow the strategy of moving the Gorosei as opposed to just attacking mindlessly.

I like that we're getting more panels of the Big Mom Pirates, hopefully they return to the story for something interesting if they're getting shown repeatedly now.

Sounds like a mixed bag kinda chapter, but I like the action and there's room for more lore from Vegapunk assuming he has some stuff left.

We need to see actual, new evidence that Kizaru has a change of heart. Because everything so far has been regrettably acceptable in his eyes.

A completely unnecessary bullshit transformation that did absolutely nothing, got even called out as "fake transformation", lasted only a few seconds and took away one chapter.

This is the kind of bullshit that annoys me about Oda.

During the second halfs of the arcs he keeps adding bullshit stuff that add absolutely nothing and only drag out the story.

It's partially what made me drop One Piece during the second halves of WCI and Wano, and killed my enthusiasm for the manga.
