Could be. What major female character is he even focusing on developing for combat?
Vivi has a major role to play but not in a fight, rather more from the side lines. At this rate she might end up being Sabo's bride if lucky.
Nami never got a real powerup, she's just for boob show and now Oda is focusing too much on the 12 year old Bonney and trying to make it not look weird by making her an adult / aging her artificially.

Was expecting Imu to be female, have a theory of how it might work, but it seems like Oda insists Imu is a dude.

Early One Piece felt entirely different in this regard.

Still a massive plothole either way. Let's not forget Shanks haki. If Gorosei anything closely resembling that then they should have used it and I am sure they do. Saturn has the stare haki for example.

At the very least LOda shouldn't have made his survival so obvious that he has to have Shaka outright say it while showing Saul twice as being fine and unharmed. You know that an author is really bad with his female characters, when a video game adaptation of his story does a far better job at using and treating well his female chracters that he does in his story:

When I see the cool powers and techniques Smoothie has in this game, as well as other characters such as Tashigi or Reiju, I can't help but sigh at so much wasted potential.

Is that the reason for your obsession with Smoothie? Really there's a limited panel space. He could perhaps draw some decent side stories on top of the 13 pages, but it might also overstretch him with working on the LA series.

Devon is more likely to get character development since she copied Saturn's appearance.

Saturn had great aura in beginning tho, I agree with that.
From haki that Luffy/Kizaru/Zoro/Lucci noticed, to one shotting marine fodder with stare, to "eye diff" Sanji and Franky.

But what happened afterwards to Saturn is nothing short of shameful tbh. I have seen no other top tier humiliated anywhere close to like how Saturn was, to the point many of us even started wondering if he's top tier.



With Gorosei power levels, there are two possibilities IMO based on numbering.

Scenario 1: distance from Earth (more likely scenario since Imu = Earth)
- Venus
- Mars
- Mercury
- Jupiter
- Saturn

Scenario 2: distance from Sun
- Mercury
- Venus
- Mars
- Jupiter
- Saturn

In both scenarios, Venus > Mars. So I think this is basically confirmed.
In scenario 1, Mars > Mercury. I think this may as well be true. Mars definitely has insane aura at least. So......... it can go either way on Mercury being above Mars, depending on which numbering Oda chooses

If we look at other portrayals such as who stands in middle panels, that is Mercury and Venus IIRC.
Venus is standaout in other ways, in that he is the only sword user while others have guns.
