Where? Kaido having invisible scales or them being under his skin doesn't make any sense, the scales are always visible outside his body as we see with hybrid and full zoan.

He wanted the damage Kaido and the scales were stopping him from doing so. His main barrage was against him in base, and when he finally managed to damage Kaido it was vs him in base

But that scan doesn't prove that lmfao... it's just your headcanon, maybe if Luffy had only fought base Kaido and said that then you'd have something, but that isn't what happened.

Not really, it's almost complete conjecture to say he has invisible scales in base form that were just never confirmed, much more likely that he just has insane natural durability and then gets even more durability with his dragon/hybrid form.

Kidd fought dragon Kaido on the rooftop and we have no idea what Kaido used against him back when he crushed Kid/Killer.

Kaido always spams his dragon form initially most fights. Against scabbards he used his dragon form first. He fought longer in dragon mode than base against SNs. Against oden we see him using his dragon not base form again.
