Chapter 804

Rising people from all over the country instead of the areas closest to the action? How ridiculous lol. It seems like someone didn't even bother to consider the effect of that on logistics.

What do you mean?

Doing it that way is smart. It takes longer but they avoid depleting man power and hurting morale.

This is a more sustainable way of doing it.

I actually think it's a good writing choice. Hara could have skipped the first military reform entirely and just give the Qin trio tens of thousands of troops but it would feel a bit unearned, it would look like there's a seemingly endless supply of troops available which is ofcourse very unrealistic.

The longer soldiers have to travel, the bigger amount of food they consume. During the wars against the Xiongnu, and later against other nomdas, the Han dynasty rised troops who lived near to the frontier, they didn't bring soldiers from the ass end of nowhere precisely because of the supply transport cost.

I’ve explained why trade offs are worth it: sustainability.

Qin aren’t facing invasion right now, these troop movements are about setting up an invasion of Han. It simply isn’t necessary to conscript all available men near the Han border for this purpose.

They’ve created a new system designed to sustain the war effort. They intend to use it and condition all of Qin to its use. All will be called to serve.

Will Ouhon provide the naval battle I've been waiting 800+ chapters for

:amazing:
They’re just using transports.

Apparently the castle Ou Hon is meant to anchor his defence from is in Wei territory to begin with, so this is Qin going on the attack first, which must also of course mean the alliance is well and truly passed.

Wouldn't this chapter proves that Qin's max potential of army size is just around 300,000? So if Qin gets smacked again they could possible be screwed in mobilizing another army right?

Not sure, I think this chapter just wants to highlight that gathering a large army requires a lot of time and effort. Zhao lost close to their entire military thanks to the Chouhei massacre but it's not like they were unable to ever mobilize a large scale army afterwards, ofcourse Chouhei left a deep scar but you get the point.

Something about this springs a further question/comedy gag to me...if Zhao managed to rebound from the CHouhei massacre with mobilizing a large scale army afterwards, it makes the Zhao reactions funnier in this chapter based on... "Damn, I didn't think they'd do :milaugh:the same as us, ah shit, we're screwed"

They had a secret weapon named Bananji who quickly got to work and repopulated Zhao but the Qin dogs just showed up out of nowhere.

The new campaign is interesting enough but I don't want to see Ouhon and his army predictably being outnumbered and struggling

Hara's break is fresh air
