I think the same can be said about most of the Straw Hats prior to the timeskip or the Sabaody split. Many have become flanderized one note jokes or are just there to offer support without any real conversations or interactions. And Luffy spends more time as Nika than Luffy. Meanwhile Zoro isn't as badly treated but no longer emotes as much as he used to. Robin still seems pretty much the same, but her time and purpose in the revolutionaries feels painfully underexplored.

Life is the most precious thing. Sanji saves lives almost in all arcs he is in. He was never disappointing. The one who got disappointed is surely Sanji fans who expects too much of him.
