Claiming roles is good for town and bad for scum as that allows for town to narrow down potential scum but also form more palpable strategies for the night. It also puts pressure into scum to slip and act on high priority targets which might themselves be set up as bait to fish up the scum. But I do see the reverse medal of this.
It shouldn’t be banned tbh.

Restricting role claiming should be something up to the host's discretion. It is not good to forever banish it from all games as it can be a crucial part of a game.

While I do discourage it as well, especially mass claiming, it is important for ppl to learn when, how, what, and why they should claim.

But yeah, pls no mass claim. It's kind of annoying. Especially seeing it happen so many times in ToS.
