Went back and read through the vivre cards no where does it state Oden is the WSS.

What is stated however is Oden-2 sword style is the Greatest <-- this is his own perception(which is backed by him scarring Kaido), no other character in the OP world says that Oden's style is the greatest, unlike Mihawk where its unanimous that he is the WSS.

It literally states saijkyo so strongest and that it is not a boast.

Let's not forget Kaku that is a 4 sword style user who not only doesn't name his techniques sword style techniques, he doesn't believe you need a sword to be a swordsman as long as you can use your limbs to create cutting attacks and slashes.

Oda introduced us to a lot of different sword/swordsman philosophies.
