Even though the laser man speed has been conquered and his light eaten. you cannot defend that.
here this was when luffy had gear 2 n as we know oda has nerfed every single gear of luffy since then this answer still stands today
"Brakes on him with obstacles," is nicely vague, and you're just assuming it means "nerfing him". Instead of, you know, putting opponents in his path that he can't beat easily, or giving him severe drawbacks to his lucky godpower, or putting others in danger around him that he gets distracted by, etc.

Funny you say that because I have the same expectations for Shanks as I did for Gojo. That he'll lose or die in some underhanded way, still leaving room for fans to argue he's the strongest.
But I never thought Gojo was Gege's favorite character, the opposite actually, especially given that Gege has mentioned multiple times before 236 that he doesn't like him. I doubt Oda will go down the same path. The man ruined the climax of the longest arc just to include Shanks in the manga to promote Film Red.

But yeah, Shanks will be taken down in a way that leaves room for debates. Classical Oda style.
Shanks' inclusion in Wano and subsequent clash with Kidd felt like a send off to me, just like Gojo vs Sukuna.
