Hmmm...I remember when an editor said the same thing about HxH ch. 380-something, along the lines of "it's the best chapter ever" and it "moved him to tears", and "it might just make Shonen History" lmaoo.
The whole fanbase was thinking it was going to reinvent Shonen manga lol I don't even remember what happened in that chapter

I understand it though, editors need to hype and over praise every little thing about the series. It's their job. More power to them.

Here is the thing: last chapter was great but nobody hyped it. But then...now...you have somebody trying to hype it...it gives rise to misunderstanding.
If they hyped every chapter, we could've just ignored it. But every now and then, they do it, we expect something, and it turns out to be nonsense.
That's not doing a job, that's deception.

I agree that linking the unrealistic expectations to one specific chapter makes it worse for the fans that'll take the hype seriously. But I think it's coincidental since there happened to be an opportunity during the anniversary celebration to drop that in. If there was an opportunity for them to hype up last chapter they would have lol If you ask the editor during literally any week if this week's chapter is hype, they'll say yes. I know I would lol $$$

That is an explanation I am willing to accept: Takano was interviewed and he took the opportunity to promote the chapter. If he was interviewed every week, he would've promoted every chapter.
