There is this impression people seem to have that Greenbull ran away because Shanks showed up at Wano, and that is only partially true, the fact is that after Shanks showed up, Greenbull's situation changed so that if he continued to go into Wano, he would have had to fight Luffy, Law, Kidd, and Shanks, Ben Beckman too if you think that he's above the normal strength of a yc1, and that situation is what Greenbull ran away from, not Shanks alone,

Because it's a new throughout the world.
Law , Kidd , Luffy fought together.
This was a 1v3 battle since the beginning.
He still went there alone.
Adding shanks changes nothing to 3 of the strong character were already there.
Aramaki went in confident he can take them on.
Bitched out when shanks arrived.
I'm not Against admiral agenda either.
It's simply that , Admirals are not allowed to fight yonkou without permission. Even Kizaru avoided it as much as he can and focussed on vegapunk.
Egghead lucci again reminded that he wasn't authorised to fight a yonkou.
That's the only reason I believe Greenbull bitched out.
By no means there's a huge tier gap between them.

Ryokugyu said himself he didn't want to fight them, at no point he singled out Shanks.
Although the way he reacted to Shanks sudden burst is so over the top that it made it seem like he solely retreated because of him but if you read his words it's the idea of fighting a whole emperer crew that he didn't want to

The issue is that after Shanks showed up, Greenbull would have had to fight the forces that took down Kaido and Big Mom, and Shanks, all at around same time, I don't think there is a character in the series right now who can win that fight, but people act like Shanks is so strong that his presence is strong enough by itself to beat Greenbull,
Shanks has the strongest haki out of all the emperors, because he doesn't have a fruit, so to reach that level of strength he has to make up for it in haki, but people ignore these two facts and act as if these misinterpretations of his character makes him the strongest,
I think by "You guys" he is reffering to Shanks and his crew, but he can fight just Shanks and his crew and maybe win, maybe lose, the issue is that there were forces there to beat two or three emperors, that he would have had to fight if he continued to attack,

But what really startled me was Oda's reasoning, if there was any. What was he thinking? "Hey, why I don't make Ryokugyu come to Wano, It's about time I reveal him... and the reason will be doing absolutely nothing and not changing anything, in fact he will barely be able to see Luffy and all! What a brillant idea!"
I mean, no reason whatsoever.
It wouldn't have been better to present him capturing Weeble, or again at the Reverie?

Yep. Agreed. Also I would go so far to say Shanks must've used his absolute strongest CoC because he was quite enraged.
If that was his best CoC output I have no problem whatsoever anymore with the Twerkbull scene.
Greenbull is a clown character anyways based on him being almost 100% a future Sanji fight and Sanji oponnents are usually over the top clowns as opossed to the stoic badass fighter that Zoro would fight.
