First, we are not sure the fruit actually "chose Luffy". In reality, it's more the chance putting the fruit in front of Luffy. Chance that the Gorosai think is "a will". But EVEN IF.

The fruit chosing Luffy is not special, he simply understood his potential. This means :

Yes, logical, I like to write. Now, stop talking about my mental health please.

In this case, yes. It's a case of choosen one. But not. I do not really see that as bad.

In fact, EVEN IF Luffy was really a chosen one, this would not be bad. It would simply be a story points of view, and well prepared at that.

She says "the human with the strawhat", and we see a human with a strawhat. This is a warning sign for me not to put my eggs in the same basket.

Because of... legends ? Gods can be created out of the human's imagination lol
now we are at the part where you deny the manga huh?

No. I agree, this could be Luffy. But.. I have a hunch telling me that it could not be that simple.

Why shading Luffy ? Why not at least draw one of his eyes or his smile ? Is Luffy really destroying things or did she just saw him standing in front of the fire and interpreted it in a bad way ?

We must be careful with prophecies..

He is the chosen one
- he was the one oden wrote about
- he is the one Roger waited for
- he is the second coming of joyboy
- he has every special ability that few are said to have in this series
- he was the person destined to be pk

He is a stereotypical chosen 1 type character. It doesn't make luffy a bad character as he still works for most of his abilities but he is a chosen 1 type character. If luffy wasn't a chosen 1 he'd have already gotten himself killed plenty of times.

Reread my thread, you will understand that I already debunked those. The prophecies are not a good argument. And no he is not "destined" to be pirate King. Someone else could very well become the PK.

1. There's nothing to debunk luffy is that. Unless you are changing the manga luffy is the second coming of joboy, he was the one oden wrote about, and he is the 1 Roger was waiting for. This is predestined stuff that was accounted for before luffy was even born. He is a chosen 1 type character. Prophecies are one of the core points that make a chosen 1 character because only that specific person could do what ever was prophesied.

2. Luffy is literally the only one with someone that can read the poneglyphs. He's the only one that can find the op nobody else can. Who will be pk but luffy? It's not even a question at this point luffy is the only real shot to find op. The only other 2 are shanks which would kill luffy and can't force robin to join his crew since he isn't that type of character. So luffy would have infinite tries to over come shanks till he does since shanks does at the end of the day want the best for luffy. The other is bb but if he does beat luffy robin would never cooperate with him and he'd have to rely on pudding to maybe one day be able to read the poneglyphs which may never even happen. Everything has happened even Luffy's favor including even his birth family and childhood friends. If that's not destined idk what is.

It was inevitable.

The entire story is centered about a conflict of godlike nature. So who better than a god than to beat another god.

One Piece is the story of a boy who literally bends the world to his will. Luffy was therefore a god before being a god, because of the very premisse of the story.

What Oda did, is simply anchored the powers of Luffy into the very lore of the story. Luffy was meant to have those power in the end, the toon force was inevitable the moment Oda drew a rubber boy fighting with goofyness. My guess is that he had the idea right at the creation of the character, it's just make more sence from a storytelling standpoint.

So.. the question is .. how do you integrate such a power into the lore ? Well.. You go full deity, there is no other real option if you want to create something impactfull that creates resonnance with the thematics of oppressions and joy.

Creating a devil fruit without a big background for that capacity wouldve been bland. With Nika, not only Oda creates a powerfull powerup, but here deepens his lore and he creates resonnance with multiple aspect of the mysteries and deepest lore of his story.

This was simply a genius move. There are no other words.

> Luffy is made for One Piece
> One Piece is made for the Gear 5
> The gear 5 is made for Luffy

It's a perfect creation circle.

It's so perfect in it's creation that this revelation created - by a milking technique - ripples in the continuum of the story like gravity waves, in the present and in the future, making us see things in the past (the forms of the gears for ex) of the story and making us expect new things (the powers of Joy Boy for ex) !

I understood that instantly and this is why I made the comment "Odais making history" on that day. This type of perfect creations "circles" are things that very few authors achieved in History.
That’s the real problem: Luffy was the “enemy of the gods” by virtue of being who he was, now he’s such by virtue of a destiny that has been bestowed on him: nothing he does feels anymore spontaneous as he seems more like an agent of destiny rather than an individual with agency. Now he is Nika more than he is Luffy.
But yeah, I guess Ovid, Shakespeare and Tolstoy are fuming in the afterlife, looking at Oda outdoing them…

-I don't have problems not mentioning it if you summarize when responding to me.
-She says: "The human with the Straw Hat, the boy, Monkey D. Luffy".

is the second coming of joboy
This is not a thing. Luffy simply reminds people of Joyboy, that's all.

I debunked the prophecies. Not a good argument.

No. Blackbeard has Pudding. And anyone with the voice of all thing should be able to do it.

In fact, there are high chances that Luffy does not find the One Piece first.

Shanks chose Luffy. He bet on him to save the world giving him the crown of Joyboy.
He didn't choose Luffy. He trusted Luffy and simply shared his hat with him. Shanks did not bring Luffy into any kind of specific environment. Also, there are big chances that Shanks do not know anything about the hat or Joy Boy.

No chosen one here, a completely normal event

Just like Luffy being the only one with a body made of rubber and able to beat Enel
I would could that a simple narrative circoumstance. Going by that argument, you could say that Buggy is the chosen one because he managed to become an emperor and have constant strikes of luck on the grand line.

don't forget when he died and randomly came back to life against kaido
That could be the fruit helping Luffy. It would be logical with the concept of the will of the fruit. This still does not make him the narrative "the chosen one" . Simply the one that the fruit chose to rely on. Just like Luffy was choosen by the Strawhats to follow him.

Just stop mentionning my mental health. Or I will have to call a mod.

-She says: "The human with the Straw Hat, the boy, Monkey D. Luffy".
Yes.. but the lack of shading on Luffy feels strange to me.

Just a gut feeling. Surely nothing.

I don't really care. As I said, if you don't want me to do that, stop addressing me with long-ass replies.

Everybody is the enemy of the "gods", it is in nobody's interest and it does no good to be ruled over by them, but it does do a lot of evil, but the Ds have some legacy of being particularly against the celestial dragons,

What if Nika isn't a good guy and take control of Luffy after defeating Imu? It would be cool to see the SH fight a God to recover his friend.

Well I will have to call a moderator if you keep doing that, sorry and I know that they have my back on this at least.
It would be pointless to call a moderator because I didn't really do anything bad. I just mentioned a medical condition without any negative nuance one or two times, before you even got so worked up about it and told me not to talk about it. You on the other hand constantly treat the forum people like ignorant retards for disagreeing with you, so if you like we can play this snitch game but I advice you to just stop sending me long replies because I can't be bothered to read them.
