I tried it, couldn't get into it. I think, nowadays at least, I just don't really enjoy them. I don't read much manga any more, and I prefer stories that have a more symbolic message behind them as opposed to being purely character driven. I'm really quite bad at watching anime too, I would start something and then lose my way and it takes me months to watch a season. By and large, it's just not my thing, and I'm okay with that. I don't actually root against it or people who like it lol, I was playing my position up a bit with "shonen slop", though I do think it's a shame that fairly rote series get the attention I feel shows that have more to them miss out on.

Charlotte was fine but felt rushed/poorly planned, Angel Beats was good but always felt like a poorer version of Clannad to me. Which isn't really fair, think it has some good things to it, but Clannad clearly better imo.
