My problem with Death Note ending isn't even the ending itself but the stretch of plot that led up to it. Series lost a great deal of momentum and tension by then.

True because we came from such a high with L vs Light. The manga was a bit better in that 2nd half. Anime rushed it. Ending of DN was solid.
