And Drake is tough to put down because he's an ancient zoan. Anything else is headcanon. We don't know how exactly the injury came about. What we do know is Drake is slow as dirt for Mr.Go.
Mr.Go is very underestimated in the fandom.
Dude has crazy speed feats, he was fast enough to reach Luffy faster than Kaido who was using thunder bague:

It was right infront of our eyes, one of the most insane feats in Wano.

Whether Apoo is the one who cut him open, or something Apoo did. I hold my stance firm on this.
Apoo was definitely involved, because we know Drake in a 1v1 is incapable of doing that to Go. It's impossible, he couldn't even do that to Apoo in a 2v1, Zoro finally cut Apoo open. Drakes bumass is not keeping up with Go.
One thing is, Go lacks a super heavy offense, so it makes sense why Drake would be tough being an ancient zoan.
If not Apoo, then the giant also played a role. Either way the numbers advantage is to thank. Oda just threw Drake a bone before crapping on him.
