Shanks is a gary stu and oda's self insert is true but it is also true that all he did was take out a villain against Kidd

Honestly/impartially speaking, what Kidd did to that fleet, well tried to was truly scummy regardless. I hated him for that moment.

Kidd should only be this brutal to actually evil/immoral people as per his backstory too but Oda really wanted to villainise him to make Shanks look more noble and justified in return.
