Powers & Abilities Luffy next powerup is a spear

#1
At last Luffy's next major power up is learning elbaf moves and acquiring a spear as weapon

Just like original Nika has a spear and sword,
Luffy will get a weapon that will help him to beat future opponents that may counter his df like Teach and Imu

He has gotten every haki and df power ups already bar maybe last stage of CoC which he might also gain in Elbaf, the land of conquerors.

Elbaf is known for its legendary spear. Even the ultimate technique is called "spear of elbaf"
That's the land where Nika is heavily worshipped.

Luffy is a wukong based character too, monkey king always have a spear or staff to fight.

The fight against Katakuri was a mirror to Luffy's future self :
  • Mogura (trident spear) --> Luffy will get a spear at Elbad
  • Awakening that affects the environment --> G5 affects the environment and people
  • Logialike body --> Luffy will get a reverse Gear which will make him act like a logia
This is how Luffy will beat his next villains :
He got awakening on top of adCoC and AdCoA in order to beat Kaido
He will use the spear and coat it with so much haki to beat Teach
He will beat Imu with reverse Gear + VoAT

Luffy is never going to be the type to use weapons in a fight.

It’s also an impractical change. If you’ll notice, Oda is quite limited when it comes to weaponry. He sticks to a limited handful of weapons and with little variety in the moves.

It would be an absolute pain in the ass. Same thing for Sanji, Oda hasn’t returned to the dual knives for a reason. The juice isn’t worth the squeeze.

I know Oda is a hack
I just hope he might do something interesting with Luffy's next fights

No
Oda won't allow Luffy to have a sword to use in a combat but Oda will make Luffy get a staff or spear to use

Reminder Luffy, Ace and Sabo all used pipes when they were kids
It's not like Luffy won't adapt his combat style with a spear

It will actually helps

Hopefully

I think it’d be dope if luffy and usopp get new weapons gifted by wano
:pepebusi:
Also yeah to the logia like ability too
Yeah
I think Luffy's df is 3 in 1 while Teach will have 3 dfs
Luffy's awakening allows him to be zoan and paramecia, it make senses if he also gets a logialike property

He tried out a sword in a comically written scene highlighting he doesn't know how to use one and only went for esthetics. The Joyboy silhouette has both sword and spear. Luffy didn't keep the former neither will he keep the latter. It's highly unlikely that Oda changes Luffy's fighting style this late in the story. Throughout the story, even after his Nika transformation it has always been the big punch.

Not that I wouldn't like the idea but I'm being realistic.

Wukong used a staff, and Nika’s weapon looks more like a staff too, if you look at it closely.

I agree that Luffy will get a staff though.

He’s probably going to have everything tbh lol
  1. Mastery of the 3 haki
  2. Maybe on awakened logia like ability
  3. Super op weapon

When luffy gets gifted a weapon and does his own version of elbaf spear

:finally::shocked::finally:

Luffy being a giant makes him a perfect person to use his own version of elbaf spear. An ability that’s 100% based on raw strength. Also not like its sword based since we’ve seen it done with an axe and club

People can't see that Luffy is bound to have every powers

As someone who can become a giant with his df, he definitely need an elbaf technique

Btw
I believe Roger learned divine departure from giants
Elbaf techniques are based on pressure blasts and not cutting skills

I agree

Do you think we’ll eventually end up seeing luffy use weapon based attacks? Whether he gets actual graded weapons or just pulls it out of his hair luffy using weapons in general definitely isn’t impossible

Him using his own solo or even tag team version of elbaf spear just gets more and more likely

Luffy is basically a successor to both roger and shanks so him also being able to do divine departure would be cool

Maybe even something like thunder nagua if he makes his own club

Point is luffy has a lot of potential to start showing off weapon based attacks
