Character Discussion How relevant will Law be in the final saga?

#1
I think his relevance peaked in PH and Dressrosa. In those arcs he was effectively given “unofficial SH” treatment.

However that stopped being the case in Wano. Starting in wano, he was basically given parallel storylines with Kid.

He and Kid beat BM in wano and then lost to yonko 1v1 in egghead. You can say Law had better portrayal, but by the end of Egghead he was basically kicked out of the race for OP.

Law does have some important and unique story points. The ope ope no mi and will of D being among them.

But ultimately when Oda highlighted the major players of the final saga. Law just didn’t seem to be one of them. At least not in the same crowd as: the yonko, Akainu, Kuzan, Imu, Garling, Koby, Sabo, and Dragon.

I think whereas Law got a major spotlight against BM in wano, he won’t get such a big spotlight in the final saga. The aforementioned characters and especially Koby and Sabo, will likely take his place as the major allies.

Law will probably face Imu and damage him by virtue of having the Ope Ope no mi. But I think apart from a short rooftop like moment there, Law’s only other major battle will be against Fujitora.

Kid and Law are Luffy’s allies like the admirals are to Imu. Hence I think Kid and Law vs GB and Fuji is highly likely. That said it will probably mostly be offscreen.

considering the first thing Oda did after leaving Wano was to show fem Law to his audience? I'd say he's set up regardless of that spread lmao

He's a fan favorite, he has important ties in the story and above all he's one of Oda's favorites(his room has a few Law figurines)

He didn't appear in the cover spread for the same reason Mihawk, the Gorosei and the rest of the admirals didn't. He's under one of the characters in there

He is a D + has DF which can possibly negate imu's immortality. He can also have a possible gorosei matchup. Pretty relevant I will say.
I think the immortality thing will be important

D not so much

I think Dragon and Teach might overshadow him in that regard. Koby could also be revealed as a D and Sabo is hinted to adopt the D eventually.

He’s not giving Luffy immortality. If he dies it’ll be taking away Imus.
I don’t see Oda taking away a major power of a villain’s like that.

He never took away Kaido’s durability.

Instead he buffs Luffy to reach the villain’s level. Luffy is the Sun god, him becoming immortal is a real possibility.

Whoever Law fights in the final war is gonna be more relevant than whoever even Zoro fights, so I think betting on Law vs an Admiral like Fujitora/Ryokugyu or a Gorosei like Garling/Nusjuro is pretty safe.

Laws going to be important in the Imu fight since the Ope Ope no mi has been connected to Imus immortality twice and because Law is a D. He isn’t fighting Fujitora or Ryo tho
Why not? :choppawhat:

If not him or Kidd, who else will deal with the Admirals? :pepecorn:

Law is the Imu of the new generation, or he would be if some trauma somehow made him emotionally regress to the state he was in before Corazon changed him. I also think it is possible that Bepo didn't manage to safe him. That for example the navy snatched him up, in his weakened state. For various reasons I believe his execution will soon be announced, alongside Barto's.
