I love all the Straw Hats, truth be told. I can't really put any of them over the others in any way. The only one I'd say isn't exactly my favorite is Usopp, and even then I like him a lot, he's just not as preferable to me as the others.
The only SH I actively dislike is Chopper. But I’ve hated just about every mascot character in anime. I think I can name on one hand mascots that are actually funny and enjoyable while watching anime

Nami likes money. If she was a gold-digger that would imply Nami associates with others for the sole purpose of taking their money. That's literally not the case and it was addressed in arlong park. Nami stole money to save her people, and joined the straw hats because they're her found family. She is stingy and steals from other pirates, but that just makes her a thief, not a gold-digger.

Time to touch grass basement bros.

Tbh of all moments to hate her making Zoro actually pay off his debt that he agreed to is the weirdest one. She didn’t even trick him, he agreed fully knowing about the interest rate.

Tbh the worst Nami moment is when she found out Momo was rich and pushed him deeper into her boobs with an evil smile. That scene was… a choice.

Fan service moments are the death of good character writing.

Either way, I think Nami's loyalty to her friends is proof enough of what her character is really all about. She follows Luffy of all people, a pirate who's never been rich and has no interest in building a business empire like Kaido or Doflamingo.

Money always comes second for her.
Oh yeah honestly her giving away so much treasure to Lola because of what her shadow did during thriller bark is great.

It's the only Nami scene I dislike, Oda takes his gag shit too far sometimes and we see that more often with Usopp, Sanji etc.

Saying this as a fan of Boa Hancock, who has some of the worst character writing in the series with her constant flanderization, is pretty bold lol
Flanderization? she soloed a whole marine fleet post ts, went 1 v 1 a yonko, higher bounty than that mook nami she'll never catch up, doesnt need bullshit power up like zeus getting rizzed up by food, not to mention is a Princess unlike that commoner bum midmi

plus has evolved as a character more than midmi's greedy ahh

not to mention her backstory is sadder than midmis

didnt screw over the gigachad Arlongs master plan

plus

shes hotter than midmi

What does powerscaling have to do with character writing? Are you just a meathead?

Hancock still hates every other man besides Luffy and Rayleigh, learning nothing from the time a man showed compassion for her sisters that maybe not all men are bad, she was willing to kill her own subordinates and disrespect the woman who helped raise her, and half her screentime is occupied by simping over Luffy and fantasizing about marriage despite his refusals and complete disinterest, rivaling FMI Sanji in flanderization.

Nami went from being a thief who didn't trust anyone and hated pirates, to becoming a pirate herself who could face Enel and boldly claim that she would rather have no treasure at all if she couldn't share it with her friends, as well as lay her life on the line for her crew (Luffy especially) multiple times.

Hancock had that sad backstory and still chose to be a shitty person unlike someone like Koala, who was also a slave to the CDs but turned out to be a good person. How sad a backstory is doesn't matter if further character writing doesn't build off of it. As an example, Brook is frankly mid when it comes to writing - aside from Thriller Bark and WCI - but his backstory was incredibly tear-jerking.

Why I'm trying to reason with a horny meathead, idk. Maybe this will serve as an eye-opener for other people, since Hancock stans tend to be too dumb to understand Nami or other characters properly.
