im ready for the final war
We're in the FINAL saga but shit has slowed down anyway despite Oda saying he restructured the story a lot and prepared a lot for this saga....Egghead was such a damn slog and now Elbaf hasn't even gotten off the starting line really, like watching a snail trying to race....Sloth Piece is too much!
It says a LOT when the most exciting, impactful chapters of One Piece happen outside of the main story arcs/islands! Beehive/Hachinosu/Fullalead/Pirate Island/WHATEVER being the best example too ofc.
I really miss the golden adventure days of pre TS OP but the story was far less congested, convoluted, pretentious, tryhard etc back then, it was far simpler, more humble, graceful, charming and such, that spirit is long gone now. Oda trying to do adventure here now but without the soul, the charm, the spirit, the simplicity of before, its not the same, its like a weekend at bernie's situation, puppetering the corpse of something that used to exist. One Piece is just hollow now, a shadow, an imitation of what it used to be.
I still can't believe how much better written and more badass Usopp was pre TS. Chopper too and I'd argue Sanji too in some ways at least. Nami is a real mixed bag post TS but shes had some great moments ofc but a lot of REALLY bad ones especially just last chapter alone!
I just really want to see the series end and the rest they can milk for a future successor series/sequel or and games, movies and such. And it's not like One Piece won't get an inevitable sequel series too ofc! Two Piece becomes canon lmao. So much they could do with a sequel too, air piracy, space piracy, exploring all the sunken islands before Imu flooded the world, leaning more about the history, lore and such over time.
We would never get a prequel series but a prequel series for Bleach, Naruto, Fairy Tail etc would have gone so hard too! With all their lore and what we know about characters who have existed for decades if not centuries in those series too!
Can't wait anyway for the children of the strawhats in Two Piece as the protagonists, imagine they all are seperated and meet up by "coincidence"/fate and form their own crew?
Nah but seriously, I am wondering what Oda will do with the crew once the series ends, will they all go their own seperate ways, living out their dreams and settling down? Each one going to stay in a certain island/territory? Or will they stay together and keep sailing and journeying? See the world?
I wonder if there's a way for all the sunken islands, all that lost history, culture and thus civilisations to come back but I can only imagine what kind of INSANE lore drops we could get from giants who have lived for centuries ofc too.
Sorry thats my rant and rambling over anyway lmao.
