Either one of them could be lying.

Scenario 1: Saber is lying, he is scum who targeted me with a kill but I survived due to my passive. Polar caught him in the lie and he should be the lynch.

Scenario 2: Polar is lying, he is scum and town is in a LyLo situation, so he makes this risky play knowing that if he succeeds, they'll win the game.

One of them is definitely scum from what info we have, and it could be either one.
