Is Sanji now capable of using IJ without going Germa mode? That's some significant progress offscreen, just like how Luffy can now use partial G4.

How do you not know? This is exactly the same situation in the enies lobby. Hybrid vs g2. And then the awakening vs g5. They clashed with fists on equal terms, then Goofy inflicted 3 nominal attacks on Lucci, Lucci was in a state for a second as if he was losing consciousness and immediately came to his senses (as it was in the enies lobby) and Goofy received a fruit recharge. That is, g5 did not have enough time to defeat Lucci
I love how a mistake with G3 a couple chapters before might have been the idea for Luffy to have localised Gear 4 ability, take a mistake and run with it in a way that makes sense.
