I know your country better than you :cryabit:

I didn't have the tv in mind when I said "hitting the news". And lol you read LeFigaro in the past.

Anyway, okay "good feed" I guess.
Neither did i. The only reliable sources are honest people that work in the government somehow. You won't find them in any news channel and rarely in social media. Again, you guys don't have any good sources of news about Brazil. Tvs and radios down here need a government license to go on air. Prior to the internet days, the government had total monopoly on information broadcasting. That is why we still have a left wing problem, too many old farts still voting left, watching tv and listening to radios. In about 20 years, there will be a major shift in this country. The left has being losing most elections since 2019(aside from the presidential race ofc). Younger generation are not conservative per say, but there is a very strong anti-left sentiment. Not all hope is lost, but i'm not counting with that. This is why i'm moving to a nation that is run by the right for about 80 years.

Oh BTW, talking about Twitter. You might remember that you could desactivate Grok (Twitter's AI) in the past.

Well, it's not possible anymore. Allowing your images and text to train this AI is now mandatory to the new condition of use.

F. you Elon Musk :)

Of course. I told you, I went through a hardcore rationnal liberal phase. Centrism was the center of my ideology around the time of the election of Hollande. So I thought that there was good on both sides and it was my responsibility to adjust in the middle

It takes a bit of time to find the good twittos but once you get a good feed, new, politicized, and challenging information can flow very easily.

It's one of those methods of spreading news that the major news outlets won't cover. Useful for learning about info that's hard to find elsewhere online.

But...it's not a stretch to say that a platform for sharing online is going to be used by people to post memes and brainrot
It's not a surprise that radical political views are becoming more common place, notably with the younger generations.

Social Media fucking sucks

It’s almost as if the constant bombardment of information and differing opinions—each claiming to be "facts" and "advice"—is gradually dividing the population into two distinct and opposing sides.

There are even graphs online illustrating the political divide between genders, showing that women are becoming more liberal while men are leaning more conservative. Perhaps the opinions that are preached by the conservatives resonate closer with the young men than those preached by the democrats?

This one from here.

This is a long video but I linked it to start playing at the final portion of it. It just goes on to show you how we in the west have gas-lighted ourselves into justifying ethnic cleansing and dehumanizing millions of people for the actions of their government (by that logic all Americans deserve to die). Some of you have engaged in that type of behavior here, and hopefully this last portion of the video might make you understand how hypocritical we are when we claim to believe in human rights.

scientists / researchers / activists / Journalist... twitter is a relevant bypass to mainstream informations.
If Twitter is a legit bypass to mainstream info, it kind of says something messed about the government that bans it and tries to fine people that try to access it through vpn.

Indeed. That's why I say that banning VPN is an authoritative method. Twitter allows us to access the information without the point of view of the journalists.

Take the horrific attack on the Hospital AL-Aqsa in Gaza this week. Well, if we were to listen to - for ex, France 2, a public channel that is supposed to give as neutral as possible informations. We would get this:

A reporting on the middle-East : 1.30 minute on the military base targeted by a drone attack. 9 second on Gaza (and it takes the point of view of Tsahal).

But if you got on twitter the INSTANT after the attack. You would get this:

..
..

No I won't show you anything because, videos of people and children burning alive is not really allowed here.

If in the West we have gaslighted ourselves into that, in the rest of the world they don't even think much about the whole thing. By the way this is not true about Palestine, the vast majority of the population doesn't agree with the genocide.

Actions should speak louder than words for issues that deal with cultures/race/political views/etc. but this was such a radical and insensitive statement made by Asmogold.

Does it justify him getting fired? Depends. People have said and done worse and they were merely put on administrative leave.

Would you keep a Nazi in your business ?
He messed up by saying those statements used to describe an entire group of people, so he should get the appropriate punishment for it.

But come back with that statement when you witness groups of people actually getting persecuted/discriminated/locked up.

You didn't answer.

Would you keep a Nazi in your business ? Even if they only said horrible things on other plateforms ?

You judge them by only their actions on that platform, which he received punishment for.

It was a pretty severe one too, for an opinion that he said but without any action that worsened it.

You do understand that an opinions does not appear in vacuum or without a vision of the world, right ?

But once again, you ignored the question, perhaps because you do not want to face the fact that the guy spreaded Nazi rethoric. Because yes.. saying that other culture or people are inferior and deserve to be genocided is literally Nazi rethoric.

Asmongold is a problematic influencer spreading far right rethorics all over... it's not new and it didn't start with that opinion. So really, if people want to get rid of him from their business because of that, I won't blame them.
