In a Clash of Kings there's a fragment that suggests that Arthur > Robert.

Arthur is described by Ned as the finest knight he ever saw. That would obviously include Robert, since Ned was well aware of his capablities in battle.

Soo as much as I'd like Barahteons to win, I'm voting for the kingsguard.

Dayne is the most wanked warrior of the Aerys/Robert eras without mentioning that George picked him as his first choice in a trial by combact.

Jaime did say he could defeat Arthur but for sure Arthur would have said the same about him. I think in terms of pure ability he is ~ Arthur, like Selmy. But then there is Dawn.

I would definitely go with the Talls of Tarth. What a nice team

Brienne is one of the best warrior in Westeros in Asoiaf and Duncan likewise grew into into one, even becoming Lord Commander of the Kingsguard. Jahaerys might be capable of matching either but I think that the Conqueror will be the first one to go down. His wiki says he was a great warrior but I'm not going to give him the benefit of the doubt here. Blud already had Balerion to wreck shit

Jahaerys got some decent hype and feats but Duncan should have the edge over him as he was a lord commander and has some decent feats of his own.
Aegon should also be a decent warrior but i'm unaware of any 1v1 duels or notable kills he has so i'd lean more on Brienne to get this done.

Maegor was a madman as a warrior. When he was exiled, iirc, he joined a Sellsword company across the narrow sea and fought as a mercenary until he returned to Westeros.

So on top of being born physically huge, defeated 17 year old boys when he was 12, wielding Blackfyre, and just straight up being a born warrior, Maegor was also a successful mercenary for a time. Lol

Jahaerys wasn’t born a warrior like Maegor was, but he was taught how to fight by multiple Kingsguard and proved himself as a warrior in the Third Dornish War where he killed Borris Baratheon in glorious fashion. Iirc Jahaerys was also about 6’3 so definitely not a small guy. And I’m pretty sure I remember Fire and Blood stating his height explicitly.

IIrc Maegor was like 6’5, built like a bull with huge arms and a thick neck while Jahaerys was 6’3 and with a more athletic build. As to which of them would win, I still have faith in Jahaerys but Maegor was probably stronger.

Like I said, my top 5 Targaryens would be Aemon, Maegor, Daemon Blackfyre, Jahaerys, and Mayles.

Maegor does have that "best warrior of his time" hype like some others. By the age of thirteen he was also defeating hardened knights in meeles and Jaime won his first melee at thirteen.
