Gear 5 not being able to put conflicted Kizaru down is kinda insane.

It is clear Oda is saving these characters for later arcs and anyone who thought Kizaru has shown all he has or will die soon took a L.

Blackbeard, Mihawk, Admirals, these top tiers are yet to show us how strong they really are.

But I have to say that Luffy in his fight against Kaido was built different, he healed himself from G5 drawbacks without needing any food lol. And both were spamming aCoC so it was a much more serious fight. And Kaido fought him for multiple rounds, alongside other people, etc.

I think nothing has changed for Yonkos, just Admiral stocks are higher now.

Gear 5 didn't "put down" Rob Lucci. What is your point? When Oda doesn't want someone defeated, they won't be defeated.

It quite literally did, he was incapacitated until Vegapunk and Strawhats escaped.

And Luffy wasn't trying nearly as much as against Kizaru.

The fight had bad pacing, I assume Luffy expanded quite a bit energy offpanel and that keeping up with Kizaru's speed was very tasking

Lucci was "incapacitated" like Kizaru was incapacitated. Down for 14.5 seconds.
