I think she just had really bad mental health issues. The obesity was one indication of it. At the funeral, the rabbi who officiated it said she’d been hospitalized several times before and I think might have even had past attempts.

tbh I only knew her for about a month. Joined this org she was leading. Saw her about 4 times overall, the last one was like the day before she did it.

Still she was one of the few people I really liked talking to. I suppose it’s why it bothered me so much.

It's even worse because nowadays people don't seem to care about it as much as they should (hell some people even endorse being fat), that shit should be taken more seriously than it is.

It's also sad how some people invent words like "fatshaming" when morbidly obese people get told to lose some weight. No matter how much they convince themselves to be okay, their body obviously isn't okay and there's a high chance of dying young or ending up with few chronic illnesses.
