We sacrifice so much for a serie who wont pass a 3 season, imagine this.
At worst something seriously could really happen to Oda.
Average death rate for a mangaka is 63, japan has a high deathrate of 83....
Think about it...

You wont find many mangaka who working weekly on their manga with a age of 50years.
@DarkWitch clearly has no clue about it.
I doubt he can even name me 10 shonen manga over 50years who are still working.
I think hajime no ippo author is quite old and releases chapters frequently

@Tyki_Mikk
I get you are upset but again that's what he chooses to do, it's his choice.

You can say what you want, but again he's still not old, as long as he doesn't have any severe health problems and keeps himself somewhat healthy, he should be fine.

You are always thinking way too negatively, acting like something bad is going to happen to Oda.

Just think positive and hope for the best for him.

And here is another thing, if you so concerned about Oda, go to AP forums and ask Greg someone knows Oda personally on how Oda is doing health wise.

He sleeps 3 hours, drinks a ton of caffeine, works all day, don't walk much or do exercises and smokes. Shit is not looking good

I think people are upset that Oda still get himself involved with secondary stuff like the LA when he already struggles with weekly grind
i get the sentiment, considering how most live action animes turn out (if you're old enough you know how trash 100% of them have been). but also think about it from Oda's perspective; it's his baby, his life's work, he can have editorial control that can aid in avoiding the pitfalls of its predecessors, and it opens his story up to a global audience that wouldn't normally take in a manga story like this. it also has more of a universal flair etc. you get my point. while yes, i agree his focus should be on finishing the story in general, i can understand why he's trying to put in the effort to make the LA as "good" as it is (keep in mind i never finished s1 so i'm not a fan of it myself.)

honestly if i were him, i would've made an effort to stop smoking and looking after his health seriously so as to avoid a situation like this, but like i said in my original post, he's a human with flaws just like the rest of us.

i'll stop ranting now :willight: none of this even takes into account that he has a wife and kids, wouldn't you wanna be healthy for them at least? a lot of men usually keep that as a motivator but Oda literally only has one piece to min/max on, it's insane
