Speculations The Ancient Kingdom Did Not View Themselves As Gods?

The Ancient Kingdom Did Not View Themselves As Gods?
It has been suggested by characters in the story that the land on the Redline was once occupied and called God's Country. However, I think this wording is very important to consider. Who called it God's Country? I am NOT SURE if it was the Ancient Kingdom itself or only people who knew of it. This is important because it greatly affects the values and principles the Ancient Kingdom would have. If they considered their kingdom to be God's Kingdom, then they suddenly become unscientific. There is a clear conflict in the two perspectives that the Ancient Kingdom had advanced technology and also that they were Gods. If the leader of the Ancient Kingdom did not view themselves as a God, then why was it called God's Country? It may be because nobody understood the technology and explained it as an act of God.

I want to make it clear that I believe the Ancient Kingdom did not view themselves as Gods. What do you think?

Points of Interest

1. If the Ancient Kingdom had a leader who considered himself God then divine intervention could become a thing.
2. The Devil Fruits would be considered magical because they are based on the powers of a God assuming the Ancient Kingdom designed them.
3. The Ancient Kingdom would be committing the same acts that the World Government does.

You're confusing Lunarians with the Ancient Kingdom.
It is implied that Lunarians are from the Redline and on the One Piece Wiki it also says they come from there.

https://onepiece.fandom.com/wiki/Lunarians

"Lunarians are a race of people from the Red Line capable of creating fire from their body. The race is commonly thought to be extinct, with King as the only natural survivor. Vegapunk alluded to there only being a few descendants left of the rare race." - One Piece Wiki

It's the reason why the World Government offers 100 million berry for any information on them and why King couldn't take his mask off.

It's not implied, Lunarians ARE from Red Line and their homeland was the Land of Gods you seem to be referring to in this post.

You're somehow confusing that Lunarians aren't from God's Country.

You're splitting hairs when you call it God's Country or the Land of Gods.

Now my question to you is what the f do you think the Ancient Kingdom is? lol do you think it's different from the Land of Gods or something?

Where is "God's Country" mentioned and why are you linking it to the Ancient Kingdom?
I will consider your opinion.

The Ancient Kingdom is seemingly linked to the Land of Gods. However, the actual picture of it looks like this doesn't it?

Does that look like the Redline to you?

I know you don't like the God's Country name. That is a trivial thing. Just call it whatever you want for the sake of argument.

I hope so. I would really appreciate if the current WG is a case of oppressed becoming the oppressors kind of thing, and IMU was a sort of prophet/messianic figure who swayed and deceived the current CD.
One of my greatest fears is that Oda will portray the AK as a perfect, heavenly place populated by saints, where everyone was good to the other and no one could do any wrong.
I hope not, but i’m expecting the worst…

My thought with this is a villain is only as good as the hero.

The Ancient Kingdom will indeed be portrayed as having great beliefs and values and this will portray them as saints. However, there is likely a duality there where someone isn't happy with it and receive the short end of the stick. I think that's where the villain comes in.

But yeah the idea about the Ancient Kingdom also being morally questionable is understandable.

The Ancient Kingdom isn't seemingly linked to the Land of Gods, the land of gods mentioned by Marco was solely related to Lunarians living on top of the Red Line. That's the part I'm asking you about because seems like you made it up from nothing.

The "God's Country" part isn't the issue here.

You guys are missing the point of the thread and detracting from the issue.

You're supposed to be discussing the moral implications the title "God" has on the actions of the people who lived in the Redline. I don't particularly care what you call them, and I have a belief that they didn't call themselves Gods.

Focusing on anything else is off-topic, really. If you want to discuss whether there is 1 God or a bunch of Gods there then that's up to you, but the suggestion here is that only other people viewed them as Gods. The ancient Kingdom itself explained what they did scientifically, but everyone was too dumb to get it, so they called it magic.

That depends I think on if there was a God and and what they did and who they were, if there is one and they are great and they did great then I think that's great,

If the Ancient Kingdom told other kingdoms that they were Gods then that is morally questionable. It's like if the Starship Enterprise went to undeveloped worlds and told the people living on it they were Gods. It would be interfering with the natural development of their planet and "playing God" where they decide the lives of millions.

This is the problem.

However, if it was only other kingdoms who convinced themselves about it then that means it was their own fault. It's like if the Starship Enterprise crew tried to explain to people that what they do isn't magic, but instead science, yet they failed to understand and continued to call it magic and as a result also continued to call them Gods despite the Ancient Kingdom telling them that they are, in fact, not Gods at all and at one time they were just like them.

This is what I think Vegapunk was talking about when he said he wasn't sure who was right and who was wrong during the war between the Great Alliance and the Ancient Kingdom which is still ongoing.
