Controversial What does the term Wings of the pirate king mean?

I've been out of the agenda piece for so long and really dont care anymore but im curious to see what zoro fans think it means? Since they say it isnt strength related or position in the crew either since zoro in their eyes is the vice captain and sanji is like maybe after nami?
No agenda bs genuine question
Same as left hand and right hand. The guys that support Luffy's ascension with their strength.

In old Turkic culture (like Modu Chanyu, or Atilla etc) horses are the wings of the Turk. Turks had the best cavalries, and best cavalry archers so they were able to beat the powerful Roman Empire, Persian Empire and Chinese Empire.

So it meant a very important weapon for them.

I guess its same for the PK, wings are the most important weapon that will carry the PK.

Thriller Bark already answered that,
Having Wings makes you Unreachable, that's what Zoro/Sanji were trying to do after Luffy stopped Thriller Bark Nightmare & Kuma showed up

In other words, as long as Zoro and/or Sanji are still Standing, then you can't Stop or Undo what Luffy accomplished,
Zoro is on his way to become Luffy's Greatest Weapon & Sanji is slowly becoming his Greatest Shield

EOS Zoro will Protect Luffy from Someone/Something that No One can Harm
While EOS Sanji will Protect Luffy by Enduring Something that No One can

So Overall, i believe this Wings Statement will only become clear "After" Final Villain is Defeated, not before

Robin is reading every Ponegliffs that tells history, also from SH Pirates, she surely knows what she is talking about.
She doesn't know anything, she just praised a member of her crew in front of the enemy, who everyone laughed at. The phrase about the wings has already been forgotten by everyone and I am sure it will never be mentioned again in the manga.

Oda mentioned this before not only Robin.

Also;

Oda: ''Ryuma the samurai has appeared along with the dragon in my prototype works, MONSTERS. I always want to draw the combination of samurai & knight in MONSTERS, but in the end, they've become the prototype version of Zoro & Sanji"

Perhaps Joy Boy had 2 of them as ''wings'' in his crew, thus Zolo and Sanji replaced these 2 in Luffy's crew, just like Luffy replaces Joy Boy.

Sanji and Zolo are the Cavalry Knights:

It means Oda knows that ''hype'' is the only thing keeping One Pjece afloat so he uses the trick on anyone anytime, even if the panel that follows, clowns the character he was ''hyping'' which also ''hypes'' the one who did clown the first one ect...
It is what he has been doing since the begining (Don Krieg is the WSM according to him lmao) the only reason why it is horrible right now is because Oda can't keep the story ''consistent'' so people start noticing the trick and get annoyed by it.

Think it speaks of the narrative importance of those two in particular to Luffy, his goals & how important they are/will be with regard to him ultimately achieving them. Oda already voiced a similar sentiment in SBS 73 and I quote, ‘Even though their personalities mix like oil & water, Zoro & Sanji are Luffy’s indispensable wings’ and has now directly told us through Robin that the crew members also view them that way.

That said, I think this Moniker also has significant strength implications with regard to the narrative.

These two directly flank Luffy so anyone that wants to get to Luffy will have to get through those two last. They also stand at the forefront together with Luffy to propel him forward whenever he’s faced with any obstacle. Be it a Yonko or a force as great as the WG.

So irregardless of the scale of the conflict Luffy’s involved in or the plethora of powerful allies. Those two will be at the forefront together with him and will not be taking backseats to anybody.

So the notion that the Luffy’s allies will somehow play bigger roles than the aforementioned two in the fight against the WG for example is a myth & directly contradicts the narrative.

Wano for instance, was a perfect example of this admist all the Sanji slander & downplay going into that arc.

I think the term wings of the pirate king is just a new term for Monster trio because it shows that Zoro and Sanji are still heads and shoulders are still Luffys two closest allies and the straw hats primary fighters.

It’s basically how Kaido has 3 Calamities, Blackbeard has 10 Titanic Captains, Luffy has 2 Wings.
