Welp, I've seen other people saying this claim is na straight away. And scummate could hope for more people to back off by expressing doubt there. For example
A Tracker isn't a claim that can just be dismissed out of hand. Generally, lynching investigative roles before they've had any investigations is suboptimal play, because if you're wrong, you lose information, and if you're right, you're not losing much by giving them a night, and their choice of targets could be informative.
And while it's true that a scum mate certainly could be doing that, I point to the fact that this claim came so late in the day that it was running the risk of not mastering, and indeed, did not matter in the end. If I'm going to look for a way to pivot off my mate, then I'm going to ask him to claim soon enough so I can do so. And if he doesn't, then I have no reason to move off of him. Eventually, it becomes untenable. Now you might not agree that I would always play it that way, but you have played enough games with me to know that I'm not a bad scum player- my actions as scum are going to be geared towards engineering an advantageous position for my team. So unless you can argue a plausible angle in which my actions were as such yesterday, then I think at the very least, any read on me should be "more likely town than scum".
