Current Events Why Elbaph can still be a "short" arc,and who'll be the villain

#1
The more chapters we get into Elbaph, the more we're noticing that the island seems perfectly fine. There are no civil wars currently going on,there is no population to save.
So,the possible villains of this arc,so far are:

-Loki. So far of course the main candidate.
-Sihlouette guy
-Giants from HeavenWorld

Lets quickly analyze these possibilities:
-Loki. He is surely strong and charismatic, but: if Elbaph giants managed to imprisone him all on their own, defeating him should be even "easier" with Luffy/Nika's help,Zoro,Sanji and the rest of the crew. Loki's only allies seemed to be those humans he had around, not other strong people. So,would he really be a villain that requires volumes and volumes to beat? I dont think so.

-Sihlouette guy: The majority of people seems to theorize he is Scopper Gaban or some other Gold Roger's crew member. If that is the case,he wont be the villain of the arc of course, but just a guy who will reveal new info and/or train someone. And if Loki is the villain, then Gaban will be another strong member on the good guys side,so beating Loki would be even easier.

-Heavenworld. This is the possibility that could change everything: Because we dont know precisely what there is in the Heavenworld. There are Gods? Giants? Lunarians? Etc. depending on who lives on the Heavenworld the arc could change completely.

But so far,the arc to me seems like a "Sabaody/Zou/Amazon Lily" style arc,so it wont be a "Wano" style arc. It could even be something like Egghead maybe. After all, even Egghead didnt have a population to save, and it was an arc with many infos, altough not all new to the readers. So,Elbaph may last like 2 years, kinda like Egghead did (from 2022 to 2024). Of course this also depends by Oda's breaks. So maybe Elbaph could end in 2026,probably late 2026. So far the arc seems like it is entering in his "informations" phase (with Saul and maybe Sihlouette Guy/Gaban revealing something big) then we should get Loki's move, some visit to Heavenworld, and the final battle between Luffy and Loki. Or maybe,Luffy and Loki will start to fight, and then, during the fight, the people from the HeavenWorld will reveal themselves to bring a twist during the fight. We'll see.

Yeah. I mean, I could see this arc going either way. I could see it going long, if Oda goes full "Ragnarok" and starts the Final War on this island. But, my "gut" still says that this will be a shorter arc? I just feel like we'll be done by the time Chapter 1150 rolls around, at least. This comment might end up aging like milk, but I still feel that way.

But, yeah, there could be a big twist with the Heaven/Astral Realm. The thing is, in actual Norse Mythology, the thing at the top of the World Tree is...a bird. A big bird, but still just a bird. Not the most exciting thing, unless Oda makes it a lost race of Lunarians/Skypians or something. Maybe the "carrier" connected to the Ancient Weapon Uranos? Or whatever hatched from Roger's Mystery Egg?

Another potential villain candidate is possibly the current King of Elbaph. We still don't know who's been ruling Elbaph since King Harold died. It doesn't seem to be anyone we've met yet. So, that's a possibility.

There's also a possibility that Oda will do something with the Blot Sacrifices. These were ritual sacrifices, usually of animals, for good fortune that usually happened at a feast. Since Oda has started teasing this upcoming "feast", I wouldn't be surprised if something happens there. Part of me wonders if it's possible that the Giants might want to "sacrifice" Luffy in order to "revive" the original Nika? But, that also feels fairly unlikely. I doubt Oda would do that.

There's also the Shiki of it all. Personally, I doubt the Elbaph Silhouette is Shiki. But, the animals from Strong World showing up, and having a VERY similar kimono make it a compelling possibility. It's entirely possible that this arc could be about Shiki Striking Back.

And then there's Shanks. He could be the...antagonist of the arc, even if he's not actually the "villain". Look, this is a Shonen manga. The Hero HAS to fight his "mentor" at least once! It's in the Jump bylaws!

So, I don't know. Louis Arnote's message has me conflicted, I'll admit. Either this WILL be a short arc, or it'll be a ironically long arc. I'm just not sure. Personally, I kind of want it to be a shorter arc, just so we can move on to answering the bigger questions in the manga sooner. But, I don't know what Oda's got planned. It's hard to say.

Really? The two defeated pirates unconnected to the Marines?

Not Garp? Whom BB wanted to trade to the Marines in exchange for royal recognition?
barto's colleauges form the grandfleet attacked charlos, wg wants luffy and barto is seen as a close strawhat ally
law is a former warlord, who betrayed the wg

There is some guy who claimes to be Nika chained up on the world tree and he already plotted something with Luffy.
I usually defend Oda from bad critics, but if he simply drop that plotline entirely even I would be mad.
Loki will surely do something but how dangerous can he be?

Lol no
Egghead was supposed to be a short arc. Lasted 2 years.
With more and more breaks, even if elbaf is Egghead sized, 2+ years is the bare minimum.

I lean more towards 80+ chapters and 3+ years tho.
If you factor in breaks then maybe it gets pushed to 2 years but no way it's three, Elbaf is primarily a lore arc unless some outside force comes in no one on Elbaf is strong enough to keep the strawhats there for 3 years

Reunite Robin with Saul
Learn some more about ancient history, Joyboy and Nika

Deal with Loki depending on if he's friend for foe will determine the total length
