I thought it was obvious they ran from Magellan because they had no time to fight him lol
This is explicitly stated when Luffy tried to fight Blackbeard, not sure why it wouldn't apply to Magellan too.

Don Krieg was coping like Lucci yet they were heavily injured not having any strength to do something afterwards which is funny since Lucci wasn't even capable to move his ass near the building besides him to even save his partner Kaku and instead he begged march.

Also notice how Oda had it so Croc and Jinbe were somewhat nerfed. Croc being up against a guy who's power is a very potent liquid (so it'd be harder to use his sand fruit) and Jinbe not having any water there whatsoever.

Yeah not to mention crocs been in seastone cuffs for months straight without a single rest. Magellans strong, but all that was heavily situational. All of these characters wanted to go to Marineford so they couldn’t waste time with Magellan even more knowing that if they did Magellans back up would be sure to arrive.
