Sadly, in some case, it's impossible. In some cases doctors don't have a choice but to go on with a surgery.

In the cases of gender affirming care OR surgeries, it's not a choice - just like being trans is not a choice - it's a vital need in front of a situation of imminent danger for the kid. Either from themselves or from the exterior.

Also, it's worth noting that gender affirming surgeries do not always concern trans people. Some cis people and kids might need these care OR operations for various physical reasons linked to their biology.
