Controversial So what was the point of the story?

We all know the ending was sort of, not good to say the least. I've been thinking for a while about the central dramatic theme/question of JJk's story and honestly, I can't tell what it is. It just goes on to show you how despite the amazing fights and power-system Gege came up with, the story was always kinda lacking in some crucial aspects.

I have a suspicion that the author of the manga titled Sorcery Fighting was mainly focused on the sorcery fighting. There are some recurring themes but a “main theme” there is not

Well, all stories should have a central dramatic question, or at the very least an overarching theme.
In the end it boils down to the old "spending your entire life becoming strong for strength's sake vs being strong to protect the people you love" kind of schpiel. Sukuna lost because Potential Man still had hope for a better life.

It's a fan tribute to Togashi's work in HxH. Cool battles but the story telling isnt even half as imaginative as the inspiration.

One thing i liked was how the life & struggles of mundane, ordinary folks were shown. Starting from the life of a juvenile in the Cursed Womb arc, a bullied kid in Junpei, an average salaryman in Nanami, discrimination of city folks in small towns with Nobara's backstory, a honest lawyer's dilemna with Higurama etc,.

These little stories added color to an otherwise, typical battle shonen.

We will never know what all humanity merged into a single body could have amounted to.
