Oda showed us this for a reason

- Shanks waited for Roger to reaturn form Laugh Tail
- Shanks asked him many qustion
- Shanks cried after words

now Shanks here is not a child, he is 13 years old ... so he must have good understanding about basics of the world

theory about Shanks and Buggy were adopted by Roger during god valley is still strong ...

so Shanks could be son of a Rocks member or a Nobel born

but I doubt he needed Roger to tell him " WG are bad people" ... I mean ... da !

However, I think shanks is on wg's side, helping them maintain order. Remember, yonko are enemies of the Marines, not the gorosei. The real enemies of the gorosei are Luffy, bb, Vivi and Poseidon who are prophesied to change the world.
